Weather: Stormy start to week will taper off as dust returns to South Florida

Tropical moisture is bringing plenty of wet weather to South Florida Monday, but don?t expect the rest of the week to stay as soggy.

Showers and thunderstorms will dominate Monday, especially between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a 60 percent chance of rain predicted by the National Weather Service. Temperatures will be in the high-80s, and winds may gust up to 18 mph.

The chance for rain will drop to 30 percent Monday night, and temperatures will lower to the upper-70s. Most of the rain is expected before 8 p.m.

Tuesday will be a much drier day, with rain chances dropping to 20 percent and temperatures keeping steady in the high 80s. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with no chance of rain. Another round of African dust is to thank for the drier weather, according to CBS4.

The chance of rain will stay at 20 percent during the day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and will lower to 10 percent on Wednesday and Thursday night. Temperatures will continue to stay steamy in the high-80s and low-90s during the day and high 70s at night.
